Normally, a printer can replicate itself, I tried to make a printer that would produce itself!
I mixed structure and mechanics
Its strenghts are ease of assembly and maintenance, starting from basic components you can put all together in 3 hours and in some minutes you can enter and replace ever part
the essential structure is therefore solid and movements are driven by linear actuators of 80 mm
its movements can reach 300 mm/second and for me it works best from 60 to 80 mm following pla/pet, wood, bronze
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzVVqruGan4
extruder (0.40 hole with filament of 1.75) is totally nude and allows not only to check any problems but also to rectify during printing
plate 40x30(Z20) does not require regulation, it allows remote preparation and cleaning,
I made some printing trials, of various size and duration, among the most interesting the one s where I printed all stress texts and “Robotica” at life-size http://www.thingivers
