Music boxes always remind me of crystal tones, so this music box is designed to accentuate that. It is built around the bottom winding piano music box kit from Makerworld. I turned it upside down so that the rotation of the key could turn into an aesthetic part of the model, turning an octahedron as the music plays. The inversion brought the screws to the top of the structure, so I designed 3 small crystal clusters , mirroring the design on the ends of the box, that press fit over the included screw tops. The bottom attaches with 4 m2x12 self tapping screws. The octahedron prints flat as a foldable net. A couple drops of super glue are sufficient to hold it together. I designed it this way to take advantage of textured build plates, which are also seen on the top of the box shell. I wanted to design something that could have that texture on the entire exterior. Printing was simple with default Bambu profiles for translucent PETG and PLA Silk. I used Adaptive Cubic infill. Final assembl
