For this project, I strongly recommend using **PETG** instead of PLA. While PLA is common, this design presents specific geometric challenges that make PETG the superior choice for both aesthetics and durability: * **Solving the "Under-Extrusion" of Spheres:** Printing a perfect sphere with FDM printers is difficult. Due to the extreme overhang angles at the bottom half of the spheres, PLA often suffers from **layer curling (warping)**, which leads to a "dog-bitten" or jagged surface finish. PETG’s superior cooling and layer adhesion properties significantly reduce this effect, ensuring the spheres remain perfectly round and smooth. * **Kitchen-Grade Durability:** Kitchen environments involve frequent exposure to moisture, steam, and heat. PLA is prone to hydro-degradation and mechanical creep over time. PETG offers excellent water resistance and maintains its structural integrity under the constant load of hanging mugs. * **Mechanical Strength:** The posts and spheres
