Got a new phone (iphone x) and the stand works for it as well. I'm using an Otterbox Symmetry case.
This phone stand is made to fit the cup holder of a 2008 Ford Explorer and my iPhone 6s with case. It also stands alone. It has cord access so phone can be attached to charger during use. Feel free to modify the thing to fit your vehicle and your phone.
There are two versions here. One has a base which keeps pencils or pens from sliding out of the holes designed to hold them when the unit is picked up, the other design does not have the base.
