This thing uses two cylindrical magnets placed in opposite magnetic orientation to achieve a magnetic spring. Depending on the strength of the magnets the spring lenght may vary.
Insert the magnets and top in the piston and holder and fix them with glue. You have a working everlasting magnetic spring. NIB (NdFeB) magnets required.

Just a new use of NIB magnets, I was in the need of some custom springs but didn't had any. Instead I found some NIB magnets and this was the result. I successfuly produced magnetic shock absorbers for some toys.

Since parts greatly depend on your magnets measures, I made a customizer to allow you to input your own.
