The most often problem tripod user faces - lost quick release plate.
Those of you who have access to 3D printer, can print one, there are some models on Thungiverse. Unfortunately, most of the time they are published as non-customizable STL files, and author's requirements might differ from yours. For example, plate sizes are not that standard. Or screws you use are not the same length as author's.
Design considerations:
* single-slotted design to allow for camera positioning
* internal of the panel is auto-computed based on screw properties and plate geometry
* screw is of the most common photo screw type, and consists of a head, grip and threaded part. D-ring is optional
* in order to prevent screw from falling out accidentally, instead of using a stopper washer I decided to make an "eye" at one end of the slot. You need some force to screw the screw through the plastic of the eye, but there is no chance it goes back by itself. No plugs, no washers needed.
