This is a gauge that you can use with any knife for consistent cuts or scoring of a 12ga shotgun shell in order to turn it into a makeshift slug! Hold the guide and press the knife firmly into the groove with one hand and twist the shell with the other, it makes a score just under the cup without cutting the wad. Its fitted to accept high brass and low brassThere is a pause in the print to filament swap for a different colored base. Cut shells are a neat trick from the depression era not everyone knows about. It turns shot shells effectively into slugs. There is a bit of hassle with shining a light or using the sun to see where to cut and then free hand slicing the shell just below the cup. This handy little jig was my attempt to take the guess work out of making cut shells. Making it a fun range gimmick or useful field tool that you can easily throw in a bag and forget about until you need it.
