During the pandemic I had begun my journey into the 3D printing hobby. During this time I also began acquiring different types of model kits... for research purposes of course. Eventually, after building countless robots and mechs, I decided to try out some of the more humanoid model kits: Bandai's Figure Rise Standard, Kotobukiya's Frame Arms Girls and Megami Device. These model kits inspired me to try to design a new model kit with more human like proportions and body parts.
The Cybog Soldier (not digging the name but I can't think of anything better at the moment) was inspired by Japanese Tokusatsu like Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Metal Hero, and Super Sentai as well as Mecha Musume model kits. I wanted to give the limbs a real mechanical feel, as if the human inside the suit had their original limbs replaced to become more powerful. To give this effect, I put gaps in places the human body doesn't have gaps, which as a bonus improved articulation.
