The Problem Managing inventory capacity and encumbrance might be painful in Dungeon & Dragons: either you go accurate and spend precious time with the sole purpose of evaluating if the new sword the paladin is trying to push into its backpack slows him down, or you go very rough, practically allowing your players to carry their entire castle storage. This is an attempt at making inventory and encumbrance management in D&D quick and fun, with a bit of salt and a spray of pepper. The Reasoning The fun in inventory management is in decision-making: What should I bring with me, and what should I leave at home? I wish this decision to be part of the game and easy on the players: no fiddling with calculators or long tables. I also want to give my players an additional decision to make: What should I be able to retrieve easily from my backpack, and what I'm willing to require extra effort? At the same time, I want to apply limitations on how much a character can bring around, but it's not jus
