With a couple of AA batteries, a battery case, and LED you can wire yourself up this perfect nerdy tabletop themed lamp. The bottom panel does not stay in place but this feature is currently being worked on, version 1.2 on it's way soon! I just ordered a set of single AA battery holders with wiring and hooked up two AA batteries to a single 3V LED.
