First off some warnings.

Because of the limited space on the D5S do not use this mount with the dial indicator in place under power. If you were to home the printer the dial indicator would hit before the Y limit switch is tripped.

I use this powered off moving the head SLOWLY as not to generate feedback from the motor to the board avoiding damage.

Use this at your own risk.

The mount is designed to fit on the head where the second fan mount holes are.

A typical 8mm stem dial gauge will fit fine.

There are 2 versions available.

Thumbscrew version is designed for a typical computer thumbscrew to be used for the clamping and the thumbscrew screws into a brass motherboard standoff which I cut the thread off and filed smooth.

Simple version is designed for an M3 or equivalent bolt to be used.

The choice is yours.
