The Da Vinci bridge is a masterpiece of engineering simplicity, relying on interlocking components to distribute forces without the need for fasteners or adhesives. In my 3D-printed version, I enhanced efficiency by integrating everyday pens as structural members. This innovation reduced the amount of material needing to be printed while maintaining the bridge's stability and functionality. By leveraging the pens' rigidity and uniformity, I could focus on printing only the unique interlocking joints, cutting down production time significantly. This approach demonstrates the power of combining 3D printing with readily available materials to explore engineering concepts efficiently and creatively. Alternatively, you can use the beam member models provided on plate two instead of pens!Boost MeBoost this project to support innovative engineering and creative learning!
