These are the modified parts I used by Magnavis to build his model https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4026233
Works like a charm. Here's a video of it opening: https://imgur.com/kmLfEuz
Here is a run down of what the parts are:
Top magnet connector - this goes between the two quarter ring segments where the hilts meet when closed. Fitted for a 8x3mm magnet.
Hinge A & B - tightened the tolerance for the hilt grip connection (if too tight, just sand down or let me know and I will add a new one), made it hold up to 10 magnets, moved the hex nut slot to the outside to make tension better, fits M3x30 and M3 nut. Use supports.
Main hilt 001 split - cut up the upper main section so the red and silver parts could be printed separately, and no supports needed. Refer to the original render photo for where the parts go.
Support rods - .35mm layer ht horizontally printed rods that form the core of the build. About 1 cm too long for one side of the hilt, I had to cut it so plan
