Dead Twisted Tree - scatter terrain

The Heartwood Remnant    This gnarled, twisted tree is long since dead, yet its form lingers as though frozen by time itself. Its roots claw hungrily at the earth, while its branches writhe upward like skeletal hands reaching for the sky. Upon closer inspection, the two main boughs curl together to form the rough shape of a heart—an omen of love lost, or a curse bound within the wood. Legends say such “Heartwood Remnants” mark places of great sorrow or ancient magic. Some believe they grow only where a great betrayal was committed, the tree feeding on pain until it withers into this eerie form. Others whisper that lovers who swear oaths beneath its branches are forever bound in life… and in death.  In your campaign, the tree can serve many purposes:  Encounter Terrain: Adventurers might stumble upon it deep in a haunted forest, its hollow roots hiding forgotten relics.  Quest Hook: It could be the last remnant of a druid’s grove, now corrupted, holding the key to unlocking a forgotten spell.  Mystical Prop: Characters might need to perform a ritual beneath its heart-shaped boughs to commune with lost spirits.  Outside of fantasy, the model makes an excellent tabletop centerpiece, a miniature terrain feature, an aquarium decoration, or even a jewel holder, with rings and trinkets resting naturally upon its outstretched branches.
