Dense Gridfinity Battery Storage

What it is. Battery bins for the Gridfinity system. They may not be the most beautiful bins, but they hold the most batteries. Pick a cell type (AAAA, AAA, AA, C, or D) and a footprint up to 5x5 Gridfinity units; the Customizer packs in every pocket the geometry allows and prints as one solid piece. The default 2x4 bin holds 11 D cells. Print notes. The cover print is a 3x4 D-cell holder, eighteen pockets, in Bambu Lab PLA Matte Charcoal on the default Bambu Studio profile: 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.20 mm layers, no supports. The pockets are plain vertical bores with a lead-in bevel at the rim; nothing about the print fights the machine. Design notes. These bins are optimized for capacity, and capacity is a packing problem. For every combination of cell and footprint, the layout engine tries a square lattice, two hexagonal packings, and a zigzag for bins too narrow for two columns, then keeps whichever fits the most cells.
