Derailed — product description Derailed is a modular, railless, 3D-printable parametric drawer system from PAX Designs built to deliver geometry-true, configurable storage for makers, electronics hobbyists, and workspace organizers. The design combines compact, bevelled aesthetics with robust sliding tolerance, integrated handles, and optional internal dividers so each drawer prints and functions reliably without traditional metal rails or extra hardware. Origin and evolution Derailed began as a personal experiment to replace small parts boxes and ad-hoc organizers with something that could be fully parametrized, and reconfigured by anyone. Iterative prototypes focused on three problems: reliable sliding without rails, flexible unit-based sizing to compose many layouts, and a simple handle that prints cleanly and stays ergonomic. Over multiple builds the geometry that balances bevels, wall thickness, and a tuned sliding tolerance emerged. That geometry was turned into a parametric Open
