Desiccant Spool Accessories

This model is a set of accessories for the “Silica Dryer Spool Insert” by Brekel. While using this lovely spool insert with my filament dryer, i had some significant issues and made quite a mess. Initially, I had a lot of trouble filling the basket without my beads missing the narrow target and flying away into the abyss. Then, once sealed in, I had issues with full sized beads being able to escape between the basket and the spool as the walls of both flexed, and with small or broken beads escaping through the slats. To combat these issues, I created some accessories for the original model. The accessories include:An endcapThis goes on the open end of the basket and ensures that no desiccant beads can sneak out between the basket and the spool wall.Print this with the flange flat on the build plate to eliminate supports.A funnel ring This expands the outer diameter of the basket during filling, making it easier to fill without making a mess.Print this with the large diameter end down,
