this is a workstation. put snacks in the bowl, put your cup on the coaster, and pencils in the pencil cup. No support is required. This model was designed for a 200x200 or more print bed. PLA should be fine, depending on the quality of PLA it should be food safe. I use polymaker or hatchbox PLA
