My computer is placed in a difficult to reach place under the desk. Every time i had to turn it on or restart was a pain, so i designed this desktop on/off and restart button. Laziness is the mother of all invention.
The pictures should be self explanatory. Except for the part in which you have to cut the original case wires and solder to the wires coming from the thing buttons. I used an old telephone cable (rj 11) with 4 conductors to make the connection. A future improvement would be to use rj 11 terminals to avoid soldering.
The push buttons used are 6x6x5 and can be found easily in electronics stores.
