First off...
You cannot use the online Thingiverse Cutomizer to manipulate the SCAD files. You have to use OpenSCAD.
I decided to make every piece I use - except the tower - an OpenSCAD design.
This decision is mainly driven by the idea to add limit switches to the axis to prevent the machine from banging into the endstops. I was unsure whether I am able to imagine the correct postion and orientation of the additional parts and moreover to prevent intersections.
As for now I have a working version made from the original files of squadzone. But I had to change the gliding blocks to fit to my spindles (that was the initial reason to try building this gadget parametric. Strictly speaking, I wanted to avoid fitting the sliding blocks to the spindles by heating them).
The screw holes in the original design do not fit my screws. I normally use M3 countersunk head screws, so I had to manually countersink all holes. Consequentially I
