Near a small covered pavilion at the base of Devils Tower is a large model with educational panels for visitors to read and touch. The colossal laccolith is historically known to various local cultures as Matȟó Thípila, Daxpitcheeaasáao, and Ptehé Ǧí (Bear’s Lodge, Bear’s Tipi, Home of the Bear, Bear’s Lair, Home of Bears, Aloft on a Rock, Tree Rock, Great Gray Horn, and Brown Buffalo Horn). This model isn't the best as it was raining intermittently when I was photographing it.
