One problem a fellow co-worker had the other week was
he needed to chain a series of holes out with a pitch given
in 1 hundredths of an inch. The best rules such as Moore & Wright (or Starrett if you're from the US) have imperial on one side (12" in 10ths, 20ths, 50ths and 100ths as well as 16ths, 32nds and 64ths)
But it seemed more appropriate to use dividers on this job.
Do you need to set your dividers to 1 hundredth
of an inch. If so you need a diagonals scale rule.
