This simple design, paired with arduino or other micro controlers, allows you to measure distance. It could be compared to a digital tape measure. The concept is actually very similar. I tested it for max lenght of 1 m and it works just fine. The error is suprisingly low. I did compare it to scales of my milling machine and the error was +- 0.1 mm on the distance of 200 mm.It takes approximatelly 1 h to fully assemble and there are more options to make printing selection.Detailed steps and complete parts list is attached to documentation.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PzjzMohGLEUse PETG, because PLA is hard to tap, and wheel contains M3 threads for M3 set screwsPrint the shaft tester first to match proper wheel number with encoder shaft (No. 1-8)Select body with or without M3 inserts (taped holes)Print all the parts: wheel (No. based on shaft tester), body (inserts or threads), lid, and hole cover 6 mmOther models are optional: tap holder (for M3 tap, if you dont have tap wrench), pu
