This dimmable night light is based on the "Mechanical iris v2.0" by NTT which was published at [instructables](http://www.instructables.com/id/Mechanical-iris-v20). A ring can be turned to open and close the iris to dim the led below. I used a [Ledberg Spotlight](http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50302670/) from IKEA, a cheap and economical lamp with a nice warm light.
The blades were made from 1.5 mm "airplane plywood", the other layers from 6,5 mm regular birch plywood using a desktop cnc-machine by [Stepcraft](https://www.zenziwerken.de/my-cnc).
