Fully DIY mesh drum pad. For those who don't want to use rims or a mesh head.
It has certain disadvantages, however the tactile response is quite good and IMHO superior to the cheap drum mesh/pads that you can buy.

Things you need:
- Mesh, like the one used for windows to keep away insects.
- Piezo and audio jack
- Some foam for the trigger (see photo)
- Couple zip ties
- Glue gun
- 20mm pvc tube

Main difficulty is that you install the mesh only once.
Sorry for not having any photo of the final product - quarantine related complication.

Assembly.
Install piezo and connect it to external world (audio jack)
Cut and put on two layers of mesh (that you previously selected to be the best)
and fix it with zip tie(s).
Now trim excessive mesh and create some nominal tension. (see photo)
Then fix the mesh ends with a glue gun (similar to what I did here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4297619)
This step is kind of irreversible so make sure the trigger is in place wit
