This is a set of parts for taking a third-party parabolic dish and turning it into a parabolic microphone for field recording. All of these parts were designed to work with a 22" diameter Lexan dish with a 4.5" focal length and a microphone tube with the same outside diameter as a 3/4" Schedule 40 PVC pipe. My build of this microphone can be found here: https://tombenedict.wordpress.com/2017/12/21/diy-stereo-parabolic-microphone/
The dish this is based off of is very close to the form factor of the Telinga Parabolic microphones. Comparable dishes can be found from other suppliers than the one mentioned in the build article, but the parts in this part set were all designed to work with a particular parabolic curvature. Using a dish with a different diameter and/or focal length will require a redesign.
In order to build one of these dishes you will need:
A parabolic dish (not included)
Inner Collar (included)
Outer Collar (included)
Central Spigot (included)
A drill handle
