DIY Reed Switch

This is the housing for making a reed switch. You just need a spring, a couple screws, a little bit of metal, and a rare earth magnet. I made this for a WiFi garage door opener I'm building. It is to tell me the state of the door. It's pretty powerful. It can activate from about 4 mm away. It was a fun build.
