This the V2 version of my DMX video projector shutter.
A DMX shutter for video projector is used when there is a need to cut out VP beam for total dark on stage (even a dark image produce some light).
It sit on top of the VP and a servo controlled palette come in front of the lense when needed.
While there is a lot of possibilities to control a video projector shutter, I prefer DMX solution because you can easily control the shutter far away from PC or light console with a simple XLR cable. It is cheap and reliable.
This V2 version feature:
- OLED IC2 164 x 28
- programmable DMX address (1 to 512)
- Min and Max setting (open and close setting, 0 to 180°)
- swipe mode (like a test function)
- save to eeprom data (settings stored if unplugged).
- flashing asterisk when DMX signal, fixe exclamation mark if no DMX signal.
You'll need:
- an Arduino Leonardo
- a Max485 breakout version
- an OLED IC2
- 3 push buttons (see pictures)
- 1 x 470µF polarised condenser
- 1 x XLR male chassis
