Dog Whisperer
Two aspiring young teenagers (Miki and Gil) who received guidance from their mentor (Ariel) developed the initial concept in 2018.
The project was developed at the
Schwartz-Reisman Science Education Center located in Tel-Aviv as part of their Makers program. The inspiration for the project came from Miki's dog, Josephine. Josephine is a blind dog. Because of her blindness, she would often bump into walls. That caused Miki and his family great distress, as they care for her deeply.
The project allows blind dogs to move freely and reduce the stress and anxiety that most blind dog owners feel. The Dog Whisperer uses sonar technology to calculate its distance from an object and then sends an electric signal to the Arduino. The Arduino then activates a buzzer and alert the user by an app we are developing.
List of parts and Tools you will need in order to build one:
Arduino Nano1 Board
Ultrasonic Arduino sensor HC-SR041 Pcs
Blutooth Module HC-061 Pcs
Pi
