Dolphin Automaton

The goal of this project was to create an automaton, a simple machine driven by cams and a hand crank. In this project, we were asked to create a similar design from inspiration and ideas we found online and then make our own versions, putting it through the design process ourselves.

My project is a dolphin automaton that mimics a smooth swimming motion by moving up and down and this was achieved through the use of cams to push certain parts up and down at certain moments.

Our overall dimensions were 15cm by 6cm by 5cm
