Door Latch

The picture is a gate latch that a friend of mine had made a long time ago when he bought the house over 30 years ago. I thought I might see if I could make one just for the fun of it. It's a great exercise in forces and I haven't seen to many of these designs before, in fact this was the first time I ever saw a gate like this.

Since making the model and doing a little research I found that this type of design was adopted by the US Forest Service but double sided and other specific detailed designs specific for their use. https://www.fs.fed.us/t-d/pubs/htmlpubs/htm06232331/

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it but it was a fun build. I have a working model but I haven't had time to get the pictures uploaded. If you make it please upload the the picture of what you use if for, I'd love to see.
