Double Collet Connection

This is a lightweight, high strength connection, comprising mainly of two collets and a spring-loaded locking sleeve, with adjustment cap screw. Components will not be under any load until a connection is established. While making up the connection, the collets will deflect to a diameter that will engage with the locking sleeve and compress the spring. Once the collets expand into position the inner collet will open, allowing the locking sleeve to be pushed into the recess preventing the collets from collapsing. The connection can be broken by simply turning the cap screw to retract the locking sleeve.
