My wife saw some wooden boxes like this on a social media site and asked if I could make one. I hate cutting dovetails, but said I could do it on the 3D printer, so viola, here is the model. The two parts slide together and apart on a diagonal. The trick is that one end has a steel ball and magnet. When the ball is attached to the magnet, the parts are blocked from sliding, but if you tap the box firmly, with the magnet side up, the ball will fall farther into a hole, and the pieces are free to slide apart. There's also a little compartment inside, just about the right size for a couple of rolled up US dollar (or larger) bills, which can make it a fun gift. Other parts required: 3/16x1/16 rare earth (neodymium) magnet and a 10mm steel ball. (a 5mm x 1.5mm magnet might work, but I haven't tried it) Assembly and Use: Once the print is complete, use a little CA glue to install the magnet in the depression of the shallower hole.
