Tool Overview
This tool is designed for cutting retaining ring grooves, perpendicular cuts, and surface finishing operations such as grinding and shaving.
The design is modular — interchangeable guides can be printed to extend functionality, including 90° square tube holders and spline-cutting guides for shafts.
Material Recommendations
All components are suitable for PLA, with the exception of the rod holder. Prolonged grinding generates heat that may cause PLA to deform; PETG is recommended for this part.
Print Settings
Layer height: 0.1 mm – 0.24 mm.
Wall loops: minimum 3, recommended for reliable heat-set insert installation.
Infill: 15% — tri-hexagonal or triangular pattern recommended for the base, prioritizing load resistance.
