Drill-guide for half-round rods

Need to drill a hole in the flat side of a half-round? Need it to be precise of depth and position? Look no further! This customizable drill guide, easy to clip on a table or workbench, lets you control your drill and make a repeatable hole.

I used this to create a set of magnetic wooden poster holders, using 3mm thick magnets that I was able to glue in after drilling with this. The STL file is for the guide I used, drilling with an 8mm drill 3mm into the stick. I had to clean the print a bit to get the stick through, but having it be a little tight is good for avoiding movement. It's best to make sure your stick can go all the way through to all holes you need to drill.

Tip: Put your drill bit all the way into your drill, then measure the length. Adjust the guide to be a few millimeters shorter, and put a wider washer on top when you drill, so you don't dig into the guide when drilling.
