Jig to use a drill press to cut 8mm rods. Not shown in the pictures; I added a bearing between the bottom housing and the drill press plate hole ring, there is a cavity for this. Otherwise, you'll need a couple of screws and fairly rugged springs.
I’ll eventually need to cut 6mm rods, so will add those files when I build that jig.
In the mean time, please share if you adjust for other sizes, thanks!
1) Be careful (safety gear please) and be patient (took about 5 minutes to cut a 8mm
chrome rod)
2) Place your rod into the jig.
3) Place the rod into the drill press, tighten chuck.
4) Attach the jig to the drill press plate.
5) Adjust the height of the drill press plate to just below your cut line.
6) Insert the blade.
7) Affix a wooden block to the drill press plate to keep the blade from flying out
(otherwise, it will!)
8) Raise the drill press plate so that the blade is on your cut line.
9) Spray on some lubricant.
10) Pull the blade press ba
