Complete mechanical design and fabrication of a compact Drill Press Machine designed for light and medium-duty drilling operations. Project includes: Shaft design and analysis Rack and pinion mechanism Spur gear transmission Pulley and V-belt system Bearing selection and housing design Structural frame fabrication 3D CAD modeling using SOLIDWORKS FEA Simulation (Stress, Strain, and Displacement) Technical Specifications: Motor Power: 250 W Motor Speed: 1425 RPM Pulley Diameters: 75 mm & 150 mm Belt Type: A950 V-Belt Bearing Type: UCP206 Pillow Block Shaft Material: C52 Medium Carbon Steel Output Shaft Speed: ~712 RPM Transmitted Torque: ~5.2 N·m The rack and pinion mechanism was used to provide controlled vertical movement during drilling operations. The project was fully manufactured, assembled, and tested as a functional prototype.
