I had to thread a large number of holes with an M6 tap and didn't like the idea of doing them all by hand. I found a few examples of a DIY perpendicular tapping fixture and designed this to fit the table arm on my drill press.
The 3D printed sleeve was the key part to make this work really well. I was able to tap 38 holes in less than an hour, all nice and clean and square.
The shaft is 5/8" round steel rod which I machined to fit the drill chuck. The handle is 3/8" round bent and fitted with a 3D printed knob. I printed another knurled knob which I like better.
