At MakeMIT (MIT hardware hackathon) our team wanted to build a Droideka-inspired rolling robot, controlled from an Android phone app. On the arms was a laser pointer, which was also controlled by the phone app. It was a fun project, made a little frustrating by backlogs in the laser cutter and 3D printer queues. The toy wasn't quite finished on the day of, but we're fairly happy with the design and fully assembled it after the competition.
