Drop Fork Gate Latch Support

I recently installed a drop-fork gate latch onto a gate in my yard. However, due to there being too large of a gap between the gate and the gate latch, the latch would just drop all the way to the bottom and not latch. My spacer installs in the same spot as the gate latch, reducing the ‘play’ in the joint and allowing for a wide variety of clearances in the gate latch.
