Drumstick Prosthetic

This prosthetic was designed specifically for people with below-the-elbow amputations to be able to play the drums. The design is simple and uses adjustable screws so any size drumstick can be used.

The initial design was made for a little boy, so scaling may be necessary for those with larger forearms. This can be done in Cura (or any other printing platform you may be using).

The prosthetic is made of a single 3D printed part, which is printed flat and then thermoformed to shape by hand. This makes the piece adjustable, which is ideal for children as it can be used for several years before a new, larger one is needed. Thermoforming can be done using a heat gun, or simply by submerging the prosthetic in hot water to soften the PLA. Hold the prosthetic in the desired shape to make sure it sets correctly.
