Why BUY an IDEX when you can convert your good ol' Ender 5?
This is a project about converting a stock Ender 5 into a capable Independent Dual Extruder (Aka IDEX) printer on a budget (Costs roughly $300).
After wanting to be able to print dual color/material prints, and seeing that nobody had really designed an orignal Ender 5 IDEX conversion. I though why not take a shot at designing one? After more than half a year of designing, breaking stuff and iterations I'm finally releasing this 3d printer to THE COMMUNITY!
Also this isn't the perfect IDEX conversion, like always theres still loads of room for improvment. But some nice things IDEX enables is:
Faster dual color/material prints (especially compared to mmu's having to purge)
Print PETG as support and PLA as main (or the other way around)
Print two same parts at the same time or even the same part but "mirrored".
The features:
Effective "dual" nozzle wipe cleaner
Linear rails
Slightly extended bed height
Inductive sensor
