Duck Chip Clip

A sequel design to my Gator chip clip. This chip clip grabs well and has a satisfying snap when it locks in place. A print-in-place hinge and spring are part of the design.
Revised Dec 28, 2023 to open the mouth more to make inserting the bag of chips easier. Also sculpted the handle a little bit for aesthetics. Added a jumbo version of the duck clip, too!

Print the chip clip with the flat side of the head lying on the print bed. Supports shouldn’t be necessary. There isn’t a lot of flat surface on the printing plate so make sure you have good adhesion (use glue stick and/or brim). To ensure good strength print with at least 3 perimeter layers and at least 15% infill.

After printing, gently move the lock mechanism back and forth to free-up the rotating joint and cam mechanism. This design will work in PLA, but will perform better when printed in PETG due to the spring design and the sliding characteristics of PETG.
