V2 Update:This updated version includes a few improvements based on long-term use. I added a bridge across the screw slot to improve rigidity, as I noticed PLA tended to warp slightly over time, resulting in a looser fit in the duct. I’ve also added ribbing to the outer surface to increase friction and provide a more secure press-fit. I designed a vent damper specifically for 5-inch furnace ducting. This 3D-printed piece is made in two separate plates that snap together without the need for any additional hardware. It fits securely in place—tight enough to stay put but still easy to remove when needed. The adjustable vent allows you to control airflow, and a side cutout enables mounting with screw heads protruding into the duct.
