I very much like the design and simplicity of this carriage but wanted a version that would handle the stock LM8UU bearings. This has been modified to do just that. It also has a few other modifications.
There are a few to increase the strength in places that are close to the bearing channels; I felt they were too weak with the larger cutouts. Additionally, i increased the belt channel length to accept a longer belt. I felt that it would help with assembly as inserting such a short length can be a bit difficult. The last mod was to increase some dimensions to accommodate a higher temperature enclosure. I found that the carriage was warping inside of a 40C box when working with some high temp filaments. The carriage bottom and backplate were both thickened to help with the warping.
