Ecto 1 & Ecto 1A Radome
The Radome is a weatherproof cover for the roof mounted radar. The original radome fitted to Ecto 1 is built off a WWII A-6 Oxygen Tank. A total of three A-6 air tanks were used on the vehicle, the other two being used as the Freon tanks mounted to the side of the roof rack.
The Radome was designed by taking accurate measurements of an original A-6 air tank.
The Radome is designed to print without the use of supports.
A high temp plastic is recommended for this print as it would be exposed direct sunlight. ASA, ABS or PETG. Once painted the UV properties of the plastic would be negated.
