These shims are mounted in the bottom of the door as a part of the hinge. The mechanism separates and lifts the door blade as it opens, and will provide a soft-close of the door as it approaches 20cm open and will ensure the door closes completely.

Printing with a lower layer height provides a smoother initial experience. As it's used the surfaces which rubs on each other will smoothen. Perhaps a little lithium grease will improve durability/life.

I bought a used freezer, and rehung the door. I realized these plastic parts had to be mirrored in order to provide this functionality in the new hinge location.
