This is a very simple decoder styled for elf on the shelf. it prints in two halves and does need an AMs for best results. in the middle of each half is a hole for a 12x3mm magnet. This size give plenty of “locking” power, making it easy to set the decoder and then turn it in your hand without spinning the halves. One half has the alphabet, the other half has numbers. They line up. The candy canes are just for fun and need to be glued together. If you have not used this style of decoder/cypher here is how to use it.pick a starting letter/number combination. For example B12. Turn the halves so that B12 matched up. Now each letter will have a number with it. write the sentence out using the numbers. Give the code to someone to try and decode it. I write out the code as words first and then transcribes the numbers that match each letter. I give the finished note to on of my kids and then give them the decoder and they solve it.
