(THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH THE STANDARD ENDER 3 SPOOL HOLDER BECAUSE OF ITS THICKNESS.)
There are three versions of this:
Original
Thick
Thick Short
I recommend the Thick Short because in use I found the other two to be to flimsy. If using on an ender 3 of any model it should be almost perfect without hitting the z screw/z screw guide.
This is a recreation of the metal spool holder frame that comes standard on the Ender 3 models. I like the look and the functionality of it. I wanted another one for my Ender 3 Max because it comes with a different spool setup. I added thickness and slightly changed the design so that It would hold a 1kg roll without flopping around to much.
I plan on designing a printable replacement nut for the original filament holder to compensate for the thickness so please stand by. (Someday maybe...)
I have been using the pictured filament spool holder for some time now and it has been amazing 10/10 would recommend. Shout out to the creator.
