When I got a glass bed for my Ender 5, I realized that the bed was thicker than the original magnet bed and so I would have to relevel the glass bed. I didn't want to remove the ability to use the magnet bed if I needed, and I needed a controllable/repeatable way to change the homing distance when I had my engraver attached. This was the solution.
This cap will fit over the nut on the screw that triggers the z axis limit switch. It is sized assuming the bed is leveled for the magnetic bed with no cap on the switch screw. Placing the glass bed cap on the nut (the cap is marked with a "G" on the inside) will cause it to home lower, giving you more clearance for the bed. You can now go back and forth easily.
I made a larger one for the engraver (adding distance for the focal length and the size of my scratch piece of 0.75" thick wood that will protect the bed should the laser cut through the work piece).
